The Honorable Arlin M. Adams was appointed by President Richard M. Nixon in 1969 as a Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, where he spent eighteen years of distinguished service. Since retiring from the bench in 1987, Judge Adams has returned to the practice of law, where he
maintains a diverse litigation and appellate practice. Examples of his many significant post-judiciary roles
include his appointment as Trustee in the New Era bankruptcy case, the largest nonprofit bankruptcy in
history at that time, and his role as independent counsel in an investigation of the Department of Housing and
Urban Development that exposed extensive corruption.
