The Honorable Nicholas deB. Katzenbach taught at the Yale Law School and University of Chicago Law School before entering a long and distinguished career in public service. He served at the Department of Justice for several years as Assistant Attorney General of the Office of Legal Counsel and as Deputy Attorney General, before being appointed by President Lyndon B. Johnson as Attorney General of the United States and later Under Secretary of State. Mr. Katzenbach left government service to enter the private sector, where he worked for IBM for many years. He currently is the non-executive Chairman of the Board of MCI Communications.

The Segal Institute is counseled by a distinguished Advisory Board comprised of former judges, law school
professors, and experienced appellate practitioners, each of whom is schooled in the unique perspective of the appellate court and dedicated to the advancement of appellate advocacy. The Advisory Board offers strategic planning to the Segal Institute, as well as real-world appellate experience, moot court participation, and other appellate consulting services. The Board members draw from their vast skills, knowledge, and familiarity with appellate practice to guide the Segal Institute in furthering its goal of providing expert appellate consultation and raising the bar of appellate advocacy.
